Movers in Porter Ranch
Porter Ranch is a hillside neighborhood in the northwest corner of the San Fernando Valley, in the City of Los Angeles. Here is what to plan for when you move there, from Kobe Moving in Van Nuys.
Moving in Porter Ranch
Porter Ranch started as a housing tract inside Northridge and grew into one of the lowest-density neighborhoods in Los Angeles, with most homes lived in by their owners. It sits in the northwest corner of the Valley, bounded by Chatsworth and Northridge to the south and Granada Hills to the east. The main roads are Porter Ranch Drive, Tampa Avenue, Corbin Avenue, Mason Avenue and the 118 freeway.
Building started with a tract in the early 1960s, and many newer homes, including some up the hillside toward Sesnon Boulevard, were completed in the 1990s and 2000s. A newer home in a planned community can mean two stories of furniture and an HOA with its own move rules.
From our Van Nuys base, Porter Ranch is northwest by the 405 and 118, at the top of the Valley.
What to plan for in Porter Ranch
Homeowner associations
Ask your HOA about move hours, where a truck may park and whether they need anything from the mover. Put those details on the quote form.
Two-story homes
Beds, dressers and desks often live upstairs. Tell us how many rooms are on the second floor so the crew size fits the stairs.
Streets near Sesnon
The upper streets are on a slope. Send a photo of the driveway if it is steep or curved.
Fire season
Porter Ranch borders open hills. If a red flag warning or an evacuation order touches your move date, call us and we will plan around it.
Parking and permits in Porter Ranch
Street parking here follows City of Los Angeles rules. Streets inside a planned community may be private, and then the HOA, not the city, decides where a truck may stop. Where a block is in a Preferential Parking District, LADOT posts rules that limit parking by vehicles without permits, so a moving truck must follow the posted district restriction.

Porter Ranch moving questions

Tell us on the quote form that your HOA asks for one, and include the HOA's contact details.
Can you move a large two-story home in one day?
It depends on the inventory. A room by room list, including the garage, lets us size the crew and truck for your home.
