Moving in North Hills
North Hills was called Sepulveda until 1991, when residents chose the new name. It lies in the middle of the Valley between Bull Creek and the Pacoima Wash, with Roscoe Boulevard on its southern side and the 405 freeway running through it. The two halves on either side of the freeway even have separate neighborhood councils.
Housing ranges from older single-family homes and apartment complexes to newer detached homes in gated developments that replaced older houses. For us it is the next neighborhood north of Van Nuys, so the drive is short.
From our Van Nuys base, North Hills is directly north on Sepulveda Boulevard, a few minutes away.
What to plan for in North Hills
East or west of the 405
The freeway splits the neighborhood and there are only a few crossings. Tell us the cross street so we plan the right approach.
Gated developments
Newer gated tracts may need the mover's name on a gate list. Share the gate instructions and any HOA move hours.
Large apartment complexes
A big complex often has one loading area. Ask the manager where a box truck can stop and whether moves have set hours.
Short moves to Van Nuys and Panorama City
Most of the time on a short move goes into loading and unloading. Packed, labeled boxes cut the hours.
Parking and permits in North Hills
Street parking here follows City of Los Angeles rules. Large complexes often have their own lot rules, which apply on top of the city's street rules. Even a resident with a Los Angeles parking permit must obey posted no-parking and street-cleaning hours, according to LADOT.
