Movers in Valley Village
Valley Village is a southeast San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles, between North Hollywood and Studio City. Here is what to plan for when you move there, from Kobe Moving in Van Nuys.
Moving in Valley Village
Valley Village separated from North Hollywood by a homeowners' campaign that began in the 1980s. Its neighborhood council draws it between Burbank Boulevard on the north, the Tujunga Wash on the west, the Ventura Freeway on the south and the Hollywood Freeway (the 170) on the east.
The housing pattern is clear. Side streets hold mostly single-story Spanish and ranch-style homes on good-size lots, while condos and apartment buildings line the main boulevards. More households rent than own, so many moves here are apartment moves.
From our Van Nuys base, Valley Village is southeast on the 101 or 170, next to North Hollywood.
What to plan for in Valley Village
Condos on the boulevards
Buildings on Magnolia, Riverside and Laurel Canyon often have garages with low clearance and booked elevator times. Ask your HOA or manager early.
Single-story homes
Easy access, but large rooms of furniture. A good inventory makes the estimate accurate.
Between two freeways
The 101 and 170 meet at the corner of the neighborhood. A start before peak traffic keeps the drive short.
Tujunga Wash Greenway
If your home backs onto the greenway, the truck still loads from the street. Tell us if it has to park around the corner.
Parking and permits in Valley Village
Street parking here follows City of Los Angeles rules. If your condo faces a boulevard, look at side streets first for a legal spot. LADOT defines an oversize vehicle as longer than 22 feet or taller than 84 inches and can bar such vehicles overnight, 2:00 to 6:00 AM, on posted streets.
Source: LADOT Parking Permits Division, Preferential Parking District page. Rules change, so read the posted signs too.

Valley Village moving questions
My Valley Village condo has a garage. Will a truck fit?
Usually a box truck parks on the street, not in the garage. Ask your HOA where a truck may stand and for how long.
Do you move from Valley Village to the Westside?
Yes. The usual route is the 101 to the 405 over the Sepulveda Pass. We plan the start time around traffic.
